Scenario 1 (Retention Email)

TO: Mr. Johnson

FROM: HR Personnel

23 February 2019

RE: Tardiness and Carelessness

Hi, Mr. Johnson,

It has come to my attention that you have been tardy in your work and have also been reported leaving food and drinks at the work station.

As you are well aware, our company boasts of having a clean, hygienic image where our customers praise us for how we present ourselves. Initially, you would report to work early enough, even before your colleagues, carry out your tasks as expected, and ensure that you keep a clean desk, free from unnecessary wastes. However, lately, most of the staff members have noticed your unhygienic behavior, citing that you sometimes report to work late and unkempt.

It’s time to jumpstart your paper!

Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.

No client wants to deal with an individual who appears not to take good care of themselves in terms of grooming. If you were in the clients’ shoes, you would also not prefer being served by someone who appears drunk or not having slept for days. Our organization is one which is concerned with the wellbeing of its clients, and therefore strives to ensure that it presents a good picture. Additionally, no one would recommend this organization to any other potential client, knowing that they may be attended to by someone who is not only late to his meetings, but is also disorganized and unhygienic.

I therefore take this opportunity to warn you against continuation of your behavior. Failure to reform will result in termination of your employment. Your behavior has affected not only the clients, but your colleagues as well, because it appears that all workers have similar behavior. Tardiness and lack of sanitary practices at the work station will not be tolerated. I would also like to advice you to deal with any personal issues that you may be having by seeking professional assistance, as this may be part of the reason why your behavior is wanting.

Scenario 2 (High-Impact Memo)

TO: All Employees of ‘This Is Us’

FROM: The CEO

RE: Upcoming Company Special Event

It has been years since this company held an annual Company Party, and I am sure everyone is looking forward to attending and enjoying it. The event will take place on the 10 th of March, 2019, at the Evergreen Gardens Hotel. Kindly note that the dress code will be ‘smart-casual.’ It is important to remember your duties as the staff of this company in order to guarantee a good time for everyone.

I take this chance to remind you and any guest(s) you will be bringing that you are expected to act in an appropriate manner and conduct yourselves responsibly in the course of the event. Should you drink, you are expected to do so responsibly and in restraint. Remember that you are accountable for the safety and health of not only yourself, but of others, and thus should not be compromised by unwarranted drinking.

If you happen to be driving and would like to drink, you need to make prior arrangements to ensure that a sober driver takes you home at the end of the event. If you must drive, ensure that you do so within the lawful restrictions. Kindly note that you are not, and will not, be allowed to bring in illegal drugs at the event. Serious disciplinary and legal action will be taken on anyone going against this particular instruction. Ensure that you forward this point to any guest(s) you decide to bring to the event.

I expect all those who attend the event to be fit to report to work the following morning, unless you have a time off in advance. Any absence following illness must be supported by a Doctor’s Certificate confirming that reasons provided are not related to the excesses of the company event.

I hope you understand the need to provide this information so as to ensure that every staff member enjoys the event in an appropriate manner, not causing issues to others or the organization as a result. Kindly forward any concerns following or in the course of the event to me or a member of HR.

Scenario 3 (Newsletter)

Great Food,

Happy Customer!

WHY CHOOSE US?

By Jennie Andrews

Company Manager

Hallo, Esteemed Clients!

I would, first and foremost, like to thank you for choosing to conduct business with us, as well as dine at our restaurant whenever you find time. We have been in business for almost two decades now, and I have had the pleasure and honor of hosting some of the most esteemed clients, both from here and from foreign nations. TasteBees Inc. has managed to create a name for itself in the fast food industry and is considered among the top competitors of giants such as Burger King and McDonald’s.

Recently, we have been looking for opportunities to attract investors so as to take our business to the next level. However, as you may have noticed, there have been a few challenges over the past two years that have somehow held us back from our intended goals. It’s quite common for any business to experience a ‘low’ moment in the course of its operations, but we are currently working out some suitable solutions to alleviate the problem.

It has also come to our attention that a few of you have opted to invest with our present competitors. I understand that it is, indeed, business, and do not hold it against any one of you. However, I take this chance to remind you of our history together. This company did not get to where it is today without your assistance. You have also contributed to building this company, no matter how small the contribution. We are also quite transparent, and I’m not embarrassed to point out that we are facing a few issues, as is the norm in the business world.

I would really appreciate it if you would consider bearing with us for a little while longer, and like I have mentioned previously, we have a plan. Once we have conquered this issue, we will bounce back bigger and better than before. You may go ahead and sign contracts with our competitors. But, don’t hold it against yourself if we surpass them in business, and become the leaders we intend to.

Scenario 4 (Blog)

BEST BUYS GROUP BLOG

What Do You Think?

Have you ever been in a position where you’re looking for a certain equipment, only to have different options, but not know which one to pick? Well, I was looking for some office chair to add on to my collection at the office, since I now have more clients than before. It’s quite embarrassing to have clients coming in your office and having no place to sit. So, there I was, trying to search for possible buys, online. I came across three potential bids for this particular piece of office equipment, but find myself confused as to what to choose.

The first bid is for a somacomfort chair considered to be amongst the firmest office chairs in the current market. I thought it would be a good addition in the office since it concentrates on improving one’s posture by ensuring that their lower back is completely safeguarded. It also comes with a variety of colors. The bid for this chair is USD300.

The second bid is for an office star air grid, which I found to be quite affordable. It happens to be adjustable in terms of height downwards or upwards, and you can also decrease or increase the width of the seat. I figure this would be a great addition, particularly for clients who are a bit overweight. The bid for this is USD355.

Thirdly, the Human Scale Different Chair is also on the bid, going for USD500. I also liked this particular chair for the simple fact that it constitutes 95% recycled materials. It’s not only light, but also adjusts when one sits on it, and can recline.

So, if you were in my position, which one would, you opt for, and why? Send replies to ksami@uto.net
