One of the instructional methods is lecturing. This involves the impartation of theoretical content by a teacher to many learners in a classroom setting. Group discussions are also complementary to lecturing and involve clustering the learners in small groups in which they share knowledge on specific areas (Bastable, 2014) . Thirdly, one-to-one instruction is a method in which the teacher deals with a single learner.
Lecturing is very effective when delivering theoretical content to many learners. Group discussions are essential as they enhance the development of critical thinking skills among learners. One-to-one instruction is especially useful when dealing with learners who have specific challenges in certain areas.

Advantages of lecturing include its cost effectiveness and the ability to deliver a large amount of content within limited time. One major disadvantage is the lack of practical demonstration. One advantage of group discussions is the development of social skills, as well as enhancement of critical thinking abilities (Bastable, 2014) . On the flipside, group discussions may lead to poor time management if not well supervised. One-to-one instruction is an effective method due to undivided focus on one learner. However, the method is not cost effective.
One way to increase teaching effectiveness is through creation of a time management structure. Secondly, teaching should ensure that learners are actively involved. Thirdly, teaching should be cost effective.
The teach-back method is effective in evaluating the amount and accuracy of information retained by the learner. This method can be used in a classroom setting by allowing the learner to answer questions verbally, or to present the materials discussed in group discussions.
Chapter 12
One of the materials used would be customized instructor composed written handouts. These would be useful because they would deal with the specific needs of the patients. One of the concerns when using these would be the failure of the patient to read or use them for reference (Bastable, 2014) . Another method would be use of whiteboards when illustrating various concepts. These would be effective because as an audio-visual method, they increase information retention ability. One of the concerns would be the inability to impart on learners who have visual of hearing difficulties. Lastly, instructional videos would also be effective (Bastable, 2014) . Videos can be saved into mobile devices for later reference. They are also an appealing and technologically relevant form of communication. The major concern would be the inability to communicate to people with audio-visual challenges.
