Policing refers to the enforcement of regulations to ensure law and order among the citizens of a country. In the United States, there are various policing methods which have similarities and differences. The similarity among the strategies is that they aim at upholding the law fairly and firmly as a way of preventing crime, pursue, as well as provide justice to lawbreakers. Policing help in reassuring community to promote integrity, common sense, and sound judgement. Nevertheless, each of the policing methodologies including community-based, problem-based, predictive, and intelligence led policing strategies differ in the manner in which they are implemented. Community-oriented policing strategy emphasizes on establishing ties and working with the community in close proximity (McCarthy et al., 2019). The strategy allows the community and police to work together in solving crime-related problems, ensure order and safety, as well as improve the quality of life among the citizens. Regarding the intelligence-led policing, it practices the technological advancement in data collection and analysis to obtain valuable intelligence that can be directly used in law enforcement. Additionally, the strategy is also dependent on excellent collaboration with members of the community who have valuable information on possible criminals’ activities, as well as the law enforcement agencies. For predictive policing, it entails the use of mathematical, analytical techniques, and predictive analytics in law implementations in identifying the potential criminal activities ( Pearsall, 2010) . For predictive policing, it falls in different general categories like methods for predicting crimes, methods of predicting lawbreakers, criminals, and crime victims. Lastly. Problem-oriented policing is an analytical technique used by police to improve strategies that inhibit and minimize crime ( Crime Solutions) . The method requires police agencies to analyze communal problems in a systematic manner, search for effective solutions, as well as evaluating the effect if their efforts. It is a police-led strategy.
