From the different video clips, they portray differing opinions regarding helping others and sacrificing. For instance, the video by Rand offers a differing opinion as opposed to the others as well as based on the manner of portrayal. In the viewpoint of Rand, altruism reflects self-sacrifice, which is immoral in nature. This point of view differs from the one of The Hunger Games video, which reveals that sacrificing is something that people should strive to have owing to its noble nature. Rand on the other hand argues that placing self-interest first is ideal. From my perspective, I agree with The Hunger Games video, which advocates on the need for helping others. The reason for this is that all people require a form of help during a time in their lives hence assisting others would see them reciprocate similar deeds.

Altruism is unreal but common with it just manifesting egoism, while obscuring the real one. Altruism serves as kind of self-interest, while it revolves around aspects of satisfaction, pride, or even the self-worth of a person. By nature, I would regard people as selfish as opposed to helpful. When people help, they usually offer the assistance with the goal of realizing some form of recognition or satisfaction, which in this case serves as a form of selfishness. Even while some people might offer help in a genuine manner, most of them focus on realizing fulfilment from the deeds, which feels them to feel good about themselves.

During certain instances, I believe that it is probable for selfish people to be moral. For instance, selfish people might embark on acts aimed at prioritizing their individual psychological and physical health wellbeing by adopting good eating habits, sleep, exercise, relaxation, and activities that they enjoy on a daily basis. For the self-interested persons, they mostly direct emphasis on themselves while they engage in acts such as undertaking things for other individuals to improve the manner in which they perceive them or engaging in certain act while anticipating something in return in the future. These people might also perform certain activities while anticipating that things will become better for them during the long run. Furthermore, distinctions prevail between acting prudently and acting in a moral manner. For the people who act prudently, they exercise caution when engaging in different tasks whereas the moral ones just focus on the things regarded as good without laying emphasis on caring for themselves.

A difference exists in sacrificing for the sake of a loved one and when sacrificing for a total stranger. When sacrificing for loved ones, such as family members, these individuals serve as the ones who are quite close to a person thereby showing a form of self-interest despite depicting some degree of selflessness to an extent. However, helping a total stranger shows total selflessness. In this sense, the act of assisting a total stranger is more altruistic as opposed to the other. People show increased dedication toward helping wholeheartedly without any self-interests at hand.

The bystander effects links to the altruism and/or egoism issues in a certain manner. The bystander effect applies whereby the willingness to help during an emergency situation declines with the presence of many people. In this sense, when in a position to help a person, the decision for doing so is dependent on the existence of other people around. It relates to altruism based on where the willingness to help increases with fewer people. However, regarding egoism, it prevails when people avoid helping since the existence of many persons leads people to care for their individual interests while refraining while supposing that the others would help. This depicts the selfish nature of persons.
