In response to your discussion, the characteristics of the ethical theory are properly stated. This is because deontology ethical theory directs that the morality of an action should be based on whether that action is right or wrong under a series of rules, rather than based on consequences of the action (Pfordten, 2012). This is in consideration of the fact that truth should be made necessary to individuals especially, where they do not have prior information about a product.

Your application and analysis of deontology theory under this case study is efficient. This is because, as per the requirements, chicken should be reared in a well-ventilated building to allow the flow of sunlight and air (Alichalabi, 2013). Perdue farm failed to adhere to deontology ethics by using growth hormones that have negative impacts on human health and excess application of antibiotics in chickens. However, Perdue farms implemented all of these practices without informing consumers, risking their health. They should have not waited to be criticized before realizing they were wrong.

I agree your characterization on the mixed economic system. From the government supporting free-market to maximization of profits, a mixed economic system comprises of many characteristics. Another significant characteristic associated with a mixed economy is the inclusion of government activities in its operation (Amadeo, 2019). The government widely determines the operation of public and private sectors through means such as tariffs and policies.

Your application and analysis of the mixed economy theory is effective in this case. This is because, by failing to investigate the products of Perdue farm, the government has allowed it to utilize the aspect of free-market that facilitates the selling of under quality products. In addition, the government has failed to provide policies that would work towards ensuring that substandard products do not reach consumers. According to Lombardo, government involvement in mixed economy would result in biased practices by failing to balance between public and private sectors (Lombardo, 2019). This is an indication that there is a need to employ suitable measures that will solve these problems.
