What Is The Structure Of The State Party? 

The republican party of Virginia comprises of an executive committee and state central committee, each with its own unique structure. The executive committee, however, is the structure that runs and organizes republican’s affairs within the state of Virginia. The committee comprises of RPV Chairman, First Vice Chairman, national committeeman, national committeewoman, secretary, treasurer, legal counsel, finance chairman, 1st – 11th district chairmen, CRFV Chairman, YRFV president, VRFW President, StCen Caucus Reps, Eastern vice Chairman, eastern Vice Chairwoman, western Vice-chairman, Western Vice Chairwoman.

The party chooses its state officers every presidential election cycle during its national convention. The chosen officials form the national committee which is responsible for governing the party until the next convention. The republican national committee is made up of 150 party officials that represent all territories and states within the United States. 

How is the party organized locally? 

The party is locally organized into local party units that play an essential role in electoral politics of organizing and martialing the electorate into the party’s activities. The units form the basic party structure that is mandated with the role of recruitment and organizing independent campaign activities. 

How can an interested person become a member of the local party committee? 

If a person is interested in becoming a member of the local party committee, they can put their name up to be elected as an official candidate or as a write-in candidate. When and if elected by registered party members, one becomes a committee member until the next general election when another election will be held.
