The ethical dilemma regarding confidentiality can be solved by disallowing the reuse of old passwords and ensuring periodic password resets that match up to the entity's password policy. In the case in which a confidentiality breach has already occurred, banning users from using old passwords could prevent the user's accounts from being accessed by hackers or individuals who have purchased the confidential information from the hackers. Periodic password resets could protect the app's users by minimizing the probability of the hacker's accessing the user's personal data. Such a solution could affect stakeholders such as the app's users since it leads to dissatisfaction among the app's users due to the stress of regularly changing the password ("Password fatigue," 2020). It could be highly difficult to remember the new passwords after changing them regularly.

Another solution could involve hiring IT specialists to beef up the site's security and, in this case, protect the users from losing their confidential information through data breaches caused by hackers. The specialists could regularly monitor the entity's firewalls to ensure they are up to date. Such a solution could affect stakeholders, such as the entity and its customers. The entity hiring the specialists may be exposed to further breaches, given that such specialists have the ability to access the users' confidential information (Gibson & Igonor, 2020) . In this sense, the entity and its users can both suffer highly detrimental effects in the form of blackmail from the IT specialists.

Another potential solution is turning off access for the unused applications. If a user has not used the entity's app in the last two months, the entity can turn off the app's access to their personal information to minimize data loss in case of a data breach (Lewis, n.d.). Such a solution would affect users since it would leave them disgruntled.
