Brooklyn is a borough in New York City, distinguished as the fifth largest industrial city and the most populated county in the state of New York. It is also the second-most densely populated county in the US. The demographics in the region assert that the borough is mainly comprised of residents that were born outside the United States and later came into the US in search of better opportunities; therefore, Brooklyn is comprised of different ethnic communities. The two sources to be used in getting information about the different aspects of the population in Brooklyn are books titled Brooklyn Heights: The Rise, Fall and Rebirth of America’s First Suburb and A Region at Risk: The third regional plan for the New York-New Jersey - Connecticut Metropolitan Area.
Brooklyn Heights will be used to get information on what the population was like in the past about 60 years ago and what contributed to the population growth amid economic hard times (Furman & Merlis, 2015). Manhattan began as an industrial town but has transformed into a New York suburb. The second source will be used to get credible information about what contributed to Manhattan’s transformation into a suburb linking to how it has contributed to population growth. (Yaro & Hiss, 1996). Both sources are published books, therefore, a source of factual information.
