I think the state of ethics at this point is not as strong as it were before globalization and the spread of westernization. Initially, community setups were responsible for instilling ethics to the next generation through social association. This is the same way morality was spread and upheld. Today, however, community and family ties are less strong. Communities are less cohesive than before; hence, outside social influence is stronger than what comes from within. Ethics is not a concept that is highly regarded as before because of changes in socialization patterns.

We are at a time where there is a significant reduction in ethics, and those who uphold it try to push their ethical agendas to those they view as unethical. This can be characterized by whistle blowing in different situations ( Sanders, 2015 ) . We are in a transitioning period, but the resistance is evident.

To a large extent, people do not use the framework for ethical decision-making. One of the barriers to the adoption of this strategy is a lack of knowledge about this procedure. The majority of people do not know what the framework entails. Additionally, different spaces, such as the work environments, are not designed to reinforce the adoption of such a framework ("Culture Consulting & Ethical Leadership - The Ethics Centre", 2021) . Decision-making in different spaces is therefore based on individual preferences. It is mostly influenced by the context and what is viewed as the quickest way out of a particular dilemma. Most people, therefore, do not utilize the framework but make it up as they go.

Using the framework for ethical decision-making is better than making it up because the results are predictable and, in most cases, desirable. Most importantly, it entails getting the facts and evaluating alternative actions ("A Framework for Ethical Decision Making", 2021) . This indispensable because decision-making that does not follow the framework might not consider alternative viewpoints; hence, the ultimate decision might not be well thought out.

This week's materials help me understand the dynamics involved in decision-making. With diverse knowledge of ethics, it is possible to navigate complex ethical dilemmas.
