Immunization is an important process as it protects infants, children, adolescents and adults from life-threatening diseases by providing immunity. Most diseases preventable through vaccines are serious and deadly hence the need for immunization. The elderly suffer from side effects of drugs known as anticholinergic which influences their thinking and body balance. Medicines especially those prescribed for sleep disorders and anxiety-like Diphenhydramine, or Benadryl increase confusion and the risk of falling (Mackenzie, 2013). The elderly also suffer from drug interactions where the use of different drugs administered such as Warfarin and antibiotics which are strong on the weakened body of the elderly. The Beers List of potentially inappropriate medications for older adults which antidepressants, antipsychotics, opioids and lithium among others (Mackenzie, 2013).

When assessing an adolescent patient, more attention needs to be paid due to their developing nature physically and emotionally. Consideration to be made during the assessment include the legal rights of the patient (Magin et al…, 2014). The provision of consent and confidentiality that many adolescents claim should be within the law to avoid legal repercussions. Consider the adolescents preferences such as assessment without the presence of parents and the preferred sex of physician depending on patient sex. Care should be taken when gathering sensitive information on sexuality, depression, and lifestyle. Provide a comfortable environment for interaction, respect to and from the patient. The relationship should promote growth allowing the patient to assume responsibility and independence for his or her own health needs (Magin et al…, 2014).
