Education is a vital part of society because of its significance to the educators and the learners. Performance is a critical element in schools. However, predicting accurately a school that will remain poor or deteriorates among the below-par performing institutions is hard. That is the reason why this work deals with the education field of study. The work tries to the specific issue of poor performance in schools and how it can be predicted early enough for correction. As a result, the subjects in this study are the learners in the poor schools who will be evaluated based on their performances.
Sample and Variances
A random sampling technique will be used to give every person an equal chance of participating in the course work. The simple random sampling strategy will be used because individuals will be chosen from a population with an equal opportunity or possibility of selection. The work intends to use a sample of 300 students from poor-performing schools. The number 300 is massive, so this work shall conduct its sampling by gathering student test scores and analyzing them appropriately.

The research is going to have several variables. As a result, several types of data will be incorporated. For instance, the nominal data will be used because the sample will be classified as female or males. Interval data will also be used to evaluate or measure the students’ test grades. Lastly, categorical data will be used to classify the students’ performance in one test compared to another.
Some of the variables will include gender and classification of schools. The test scores will be the other variable. These variables will help in predicting the possibility of improvement in schools.
Research Question
Is it possible to predict the improvement accurately amongst the weak performing institutions and to discern the ones that will deteriorate further?
Statistical Test
The statistical test to be used in this case is the chi-square tests because it will entail both the test of independence and the goodness of fit.
A chi-square test is chosen for this work because it is formulated to analyze all categorical data types. It implies that the data is already counted and then classified into different groups (Sarre, et al., 2019). The data in this situation is categorical, and it has been collected and divided into categories. A chi-square test will come in handy for such a case.
Entering the data and running a chi-square test in jamovi requires few steps. The first step is by clicking on the tab about frequencies and then go to the N outcomes. A screen will display that will allow the use of raw data.
The final output will look like the table below;
The relationship will be considered as statistically significant if the p-value of the chi-square test is less than .05.
Potential Bias
The possible bias could be nonresponse bias, where some of the study participants are not willing or cannot take part in the survey for whatever reason.
The study has two main limitations. Firstly, the sample used n = 300 is not significant enough to represent learners in various schools. The number is small. The data collection process was also dependent on the test scores from different schools. The schools giving the scores could decide and give out the wrong results. The limitation with the generalizability is the fact that there is no specific guarantee that the results found from the study will happen in every scenario outside the study (Crago et al., 2019). Hence, it is difficult to make conclusions
