My philosophy statement regarding the state of ethics education is that all learners from across professions require knowledge in ethics. Ethics education should be provided to learners throughout the process to enhance their understanding of the key ethical issues in society (" Files.eric.ed.gov," 2020 ). Equipping learners with skills in ethics enhance their skills to understand various aspects of society from a moral perspective (" WWC," 2020 ). It is necessary to take into consideration the global ethical issues in education. Teaching ethics in professional programs offers an opportunity to develop a critical understanding of major ethical issues ( Core.edu, 2020 ). Understanding the culture and values of human dignity, morality and acceptable behaviors increases one's success in a profession (" Ro.ecu.edu.au," 2020 ). Therefore, I hold the view that ethics education should be a continuous learning process for professionals throughout their careers.

I believe that ethics education in professional programs would help reduce many contemporary ethical issues witnessed across professions. There are current cases of professional malpractices in business, nursing, medicine and other professions across the world. Nursing and medicine professions, in particular, require to apply a professional code of ethics and moral values throughout their profession (" Asha.org," 2020 ). As the world faces a changing dynamic of ethical issues, it becomes necessary to have continuous ethics ethical for professionals ( Duckett, 2020 ). Failing to act ethically in certain professions such as medicine and nursing can come with huge costs of lawsuits and lost reputation. Moving into the future, I believe ethics will become one of the most significant elements for every profession. The learners will need to acquire ethics education in their various professional programs to enhance their understanding of these issues (" Www2.ed.gov," 2020 ). Ethics helps professionals differentiate between right and wrong and take the necessary steps to apply them in their careers. It leads to a moral society that is founded on law and moral values.
