Use of Fear in Persuasion
A media message with the fear appeal that was persuasive to me was when I saw a health care provider demonstrating on television how smoking a cigarette can affect the lungs. The healthcare provider established how black lungs could look, making them not to function normally. The demonstration was so fearful and also the healthcare provider mentioned that being with a smoking person when smoking is equally as one smoking. Since I saw the effect cigarettes can create in a person; it made me keep distance always from people who smoke.
Persuasion worked in the demonstration on the effect of smoking cigarettes because the health care provider was able to show and convince viewers how bad the situation is when smoking cigarettes (Abril et al., 2017) . The illustration creates fear, and many people can stop smoking, and for those who do not smoke cannot try smoking. Lastly, people can be easily convinced by being shown how bad the situation is thus, the use of television was the most effective media message to use.

Television was effective to use because the health care provider showed how the smoke from cigarettes gets into lungs, how smoke which goes to the lungs is more than the one which comes out, this alone showed how bad the situation could be to viewers. The health care provider validated how a disease like tuberculosis could quickly develop in people who smoke cigarettes since they are vulnerable to such diseases.
Negative Effects of Social Media
Social media is negative to people because today a lot of things are put on social media, which are changing our cultures. Social media has made life unsafe, like, today; one can be easily attacked by the use of the information the person put on social media. Even though there are advantages of social media, the disadvantages are more making it negative to people. Many people have a fear of their privacy on social media. Any information one puts on social media can be misused.
According to Quinn & Papacharissi, (2018) with a violation of context-relative information norms, social media privacy is threatened. With social media, privacy is not assured; today, cyber attacks are common, making social media not be trusted for important information. Researchers have urged that context is vital to determine privacy, but still a lot is going on in the technology industry thus there has not been a permanent solution to social privacy, and it seems that no permanent solution can be made since in every solution that comes up it is tampered making the information in social media at risk. A lot of solutions have been put into practice like security settings, but still, none of them has become effective, thus, today any information placed on social media is not private because if somebody needs it, with proper knowledge one can get the information. Today social media users use social media having in mind that they may lose their information to the wrong people like the competitors making social media less effective. Due to technology evolution, social media privacy has encountered several challenges, companies like Google have come in to help the issue by notifying the website owner when somebody is trying to login to your Website, but still, and it has not granted 100% security to social media users.
