My top three values are truthfulness, honesty, and fairness. The Christian faith has shaped the values. However, my upbringing has also contributed to shaping these values. As a result of considering fairness as a significant value, I do not make judgments or decisions that discriminate. My conclusions are impartial, and I always make an effort to avoid favoritism. Besides, when making ethical or moral decisions, I am true to both myself and others. Even when I am tempted to lie, I strive to tell the truth regardless of the outcomes. Some outcomes might not always be pleasing when the fact is said, but I consider telling things as essential. In Ephesians 4:25, the Bible condemns falsehood and requires believers still to tell the truth. By being truthful, we emulate Christ. I always make an effort, to be honest in the decisions that I make regardless of the parties involved or the prevailing situation.

In Matthew 5:4, Jesus said, “Blessed are who mourn for they will be comforted. Sorrow for wrongdoing/sin is a crucial value mentioned in this passage. Mourning becomes a blessing because mourning in this passage refers to distress for wrongdoing, which leads to repentance. Through repentance, God’s forgiveness and grace produce comfort, which draws us closer to God, and this is a blessing. Galatians 5:22-23 talks of the fruit of the Spirit, which comprises nine values/attributes. These values are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, self-control, gentleness, and faithfulness. These values are produced when the Holy Spirit is in us and works in our lives. Among the identified values, the ones practiced in my life are repentance, kindness, gentleness, peace, and faithfulness. I have learned that through continuous repentance, we get into a great relationship with God. Also, I have known that mourning is a value, according to the Bible, that leads to avoiding wrongdoing, hence ethical decision making.
