The Internet of things is effective in the investigations of cybercrimes. It makes it easy for forensic detectives to carrying out investigations by looking at devices connected to devices that have been stolen or observing the history of how specific devices have been used (Li et al., 2016). Some door cameras can be connected to one’s phone, in case of intrusion, one will receive an alert, and they will be able to view and go on around their homes. These cameras are essential, especially when they are capable of capturing intruder physical features; this will allow law enforcers to track down the culprit.

The Io T can be helpful in “brick and mortar crimes.” These crimes happen in an organization where an individual is supposed to have a face to face interaction with their clients (Li et al., 2016). In cases where an individual has used a stolen credit card to purchase certain items in a store, the owner of the credit card will get an alert. Also, since most brick and mortar enterprises have cameras, the investigators can view the security camera while matching it with the time the credit card was used.

The Io T will facilitate cybercrime investigation. Io T pertains to adding internet connection to computing devices that are related. The computing devices can be digital or mechanical machines. The devices have a unique identifier that can transfer data to other devices that it is connected to (TEDx Talks, 2016). The Io T will be helpful since the data transferred from devices to another will allow the investigators to trace how a criminal activity occurred.

The development of Io T will not complicate the existing evidence law; instead, it will help the investigator come up with proper evidence to supplement the one they already have (Li et al., 2016). Also, if any mistakes were made while collecting evidence, the Io T will enable the investigators to correct the mistakes on time.
