The four messages of the IOM report suggests that nurses should perform their responsibilities to the fullest capacity of their training and education. More so, the four messages from the report say that nurses should work as a team with other health practitioners to bring adequate care to the citizens. In other words, nurses should work in partnership with other healthcare professionals to promote the health of individuals. The fourth message illustrates that better workforce planning can be achieved by making an improvement in both data collection and information infrastructure. 

The four messages are critical to the nursing practice. They serve as a way of preparing nurses to handle complex healthcare issues. More so, they provide nurses with an opportunity to learn more about their responsibilities in society (Institute of Medicine, 2018). They also encourage nurses to collaborate with their fellow workmates in all health settings. In general, the significance of the four messages is to improve the health care of individuals. 

2. Discuss the direct influence the IOM report has on nursing education and nursing leadership. Describe the benefits and opportunities for BSN prepared students 

IOM report has an immediate impact on both nursing education and leadership. For instance, it encourages nurses to acquire the necessary education and training that is sufficient for them to work in a dynamic environment (Cronenwett et al., 2017). The report has attracted a large number of nursing students in many universities across the world. For example, also provide nursing students with critical ideas concerning some of the basic concepts they should focus to emerge victorious in their nursing career (Finkelman& Kenner, 2016). The IOM report has enabled a large number of nurses to adapt better leadership skills. In the report, the author explains the importance of developing leadership skills in all health settings. It asserts that nurses cannot achieve better outcome unless they portray appropriate leadership skills in their roles. 

A BSN student has a lot of abilities beyond clinical skills. For example, in the learning, the student acquires several skills such as communication, leadership critical and creative thinking skills. The student has the opportunity to work in all areas of health care settings. From the research, a BSN student has a chance to provide better care to the patient. In other words, nurses with BSN holders offers better outcomes for patients and hence lowering higher rates of mortality within the country. Also, a BSN student portrays a higher degree of proficiency, especially when making diagnoses. 

3. Explain why it is important that nurses role and education evolve to meet the needs of an aging and increasingly diverse population 

The new roles will empower nurses to act correctly to enhance patient experiences as well as lowering the costs for health services. The evolution of nurses' roles and education will reduce unnecessary hospital readmissions of patients. They will also serve as one way of preventing medical errors and hence minimizing high rates of deaths among the diverse population (Hain & Fleck, 2014). More so, the changing roles of nurses and in education will serve as a potential way of offering affordable and more convenient health care. On top of that, it will establish more patient-centered care especially in all settings that are community-based (Pacquiao, 2017). Most importantly, the changing roles and education among the nurses will lead to increased accountability among the nurses. 

4. Discuss the significance of professional development, or lifelong learning, and its relevance in caring for diverse populations across the lifespan and within the health-illness continuum 

Nurses work in an environment that is more technical and highly fast-paced (Aiken et al., 2018). Therefore, they continuously require professional development to emerge triumphant in their career. Through lifelong learning, patients attain extensive experiences which make them make rational and quick decisions concerning the health care of a patient (Knebel Greiner, 2016). Also, professional development enables nurses to learn how effective they should communicate with their fellow health practitioners. 

Furthermore, lifelong learning helps nurses to transit what they learn in school to practice. In the event, nurses learn the importance of staying current and much advanced on their careers. Most importantly, lifelong learning enables nurses to stay up to date with current issues (Aebersol & Tschannen, 2015). They learn about the emerging concerns on patient care, trends in health care and some necessary treatment techniques. 

5. Discuss how nurses can assist in effectively managing patient care within an evolving care system 

Nurses can play significant roles when it comes to effective management of patient care within system care that is changing day by day. For example, they can eradicate all barriers that are associated with effective pain management (Aiken et al., 2015). By so doing, they will stand a chance of helping patients to manage their pain effectively. Nurses can also adapt to some drug monitoring programs which will help them to evaluate the influence of a particular drug to a certain health challenge. For example, they should consider formulating supportive data together with an appropriate practice sharing to promote better prescribing of medications (Melnyk et al., 2014). More so, nurses initiate a teamwork strategy to improve the outcome of their performances in the near future. It means the evolving health care and increased demand for better patient care requires nurses to establish a parallel health care professional development with all their focus being on an approach that is teamwork centered. 

More so, nurses should engage themselves in various health researches to generate appropriate evidence concerning healthcare. They should participate in critical innovation roles so that they can shape the quality and safety in all health settings (Berwick, 2014). Researches will help nurses to build a firm scientific background of their clinical practice which will enable them to improve patient outcomes. Most importantly, the nurse should strive to redesign their nursing education (Grady, 2014). In other words, they should develop essential competencies for them to cope with evolving health issues. 

Conclusion 

IOM report plays a significant role in the nursing practice. It is among the many reports that promote the healthcare of patients. It guides nurses on how they should play their role to achieve better patient's outcomes. The report has a significant influence on both nursing leadership and education. It is motivating nurses to portray good leadership skills in their Areas of working. More so, it is perceived as one way of expanding education because it attracts the majority of nursing students to train to become competent nurses in the future.
