Humanities is considered to be branches of knowledge like literature, art, and philosophy that are mainly concerned with human culture and thought ( Murray, 2007) . It can also be described as the study of the way in which people process and record the human experience. Considering the fact that human beings have been able to use religion, music, philosophy, art, literature, language, and history to have a better understanding and to record the world, then these methods of expression have been some of the subjects that are found under humanity umbrella. In other words, they are the key areas of study. The knowledge of human experience provides and the opportunity to be connected to people from the past and also the next generations. 

The key achievements of the Renaissance and the universal scholar 

Renaissance is considered to be the rebirth of learning and art. It was also basically a period of an intellectual movement that was given a big place in the universal history ( Patrick, 2007) . The key achievement during the period included an increase in trade between cities in Europe and the rest of the world that helped cities grow and also weakened the outdated manner . Peasants also got new freedoms in the cities and at home. The decrease in feudalism and an increase in the movement of ideas and people made the period a time of great inventions in the history of the western world such as the fast book production and the printing press helped to spread the knowledge of ancient Rome and Greece of medicine and science. The art from universal scholars also helped people in discovering new subjects to sculpt and paint and new techniques. Scientists, writers, artists, philosophers, and inventors explored and examined the world with a different outlook.

Humanism has become vital considering the fact that it provides an opportunity to be connected to people from the past and also the next generations. Humanity was improved during the Renaissance period through helping people discovering new subjects to sculpt and paint and new techniques.
