I like the sequential presentation of your text. The logical details on climate change interpretation, the recent trends in deforestation and the link between deforestation and climate change are clear. It is true that the increased rate of human activities like tourism and construction, which result from the rapidly growing population, have exerted a lot of pressure on existing natural resources such as trees, leading to deforestation. Austin, González-Roglich, Schaffer-Smith, Schwantes & Swenson (2017) indicate that there was a more than fifty percent increase in the large scale clearing of trees between 2002 and 2012. I, therefore, agree with the upward deforestation trend presented in your text. Lastly, the most important part that involves the role played by deforestation in climate change is also clear in the text. I understand that trees are significant in consuming the carbon (IV) oxide gas and hence clearing them leads to the accumulation of this gas which causes global warming or the greenhouse effect (Carrington, 2019). Thus, the information from your text is relevant.

I agree with the greenhouse effect description depicted in your text. In simple terms, the greenhouse effect refers to the natural process through which the earth’s surface is heated. Ideally, when the energy from the sun enters the earth’s atmosphere, some of it is absorbed while the other is reflected into space where it is re-radiated or trapped by the layer of greenhouse gases leading to global warming. Just to expound on your discussion, there are various examples of greenhouse gases (CFCs) such as the carbon (IV) oxide gas, nitrous oxide, methane, and water vapor which form the ozone layer that traps or re-radiates the heat back into the atmosphere (Lallanila, 2018). Lastly, I find your justification for the food industry as the largest anthropogenic facet appealing. Specifically, the citation of Kip Andersen’s indication of meat industry as the leading cause of greenhouse gases justifies your selection of which I agree (Hall, 2017). I, therefore, find your text enriching.
