Embarking on graduate studies is a significant decision that I had to make after thoughtful deliberation of my individual, academic, and professional goals. The master’s in nursing (MSN) program offers a range of specialties from which I made my evaluation depending on my passion and competency before deciding on the family nurse practitioner specialty. My primary motivator to pursue the family nurse practitioner -MSN program was for intellectual and personal development, attainment of better communication skills, career position advancement, and peer networking ( Masters et al., 2019) . Pursuing a master's in family nursing practice allows me to develop and showcase ingenuity, knowledge application, and sentience of precarious issues on an advanced level.
The choice to pursue a master's degree as a family nurse practitioner within the MSM program will enable me to advance my education and build upon the critical care knowledge background I have acquired. I am seeking a challenging yet rewarding career at the same time, and the path to family nursing practice allows me to develop my communication, critical thinking skills and inter-relational skills. I am caring and a multitasker yearning for a challenging and complex career path where I can offer primary care , either acute or specialty health care across the span of life by assessing, diagnosing, and treating illnesses and injuries. ( Moote et al., 2019) . Determining the treatment options for the patient allows me to exercise my critical thinking skills.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
The decision to pursue graduate studies as a family nurse practitioner is not to be taken lightly. One must first understand their individual needs to make the decision that requires self-evaluation. Besides, there was a time constraint factor when I interacted with my professors and current graduate students and counselors to seek their advice before making my decision ( Owens, 2020) . I had also to take into consideration to undertake a traditional on-campus program or online and the cost of continuing education. Financial constraints are a challenge for a person new to the field while studying.
Despite the challenges, I was driven to pursue the MSN degree as a family nurse practitioner, which would offer me the core competency skills of diplomacy, interpersonal skills, and critical thinking. Besides, I would continue the degree program at my own pace while boasting my schedule flexibility ( Ramira, 2019) . Pursuing the degree prompted me to decide to be affiliated with professional organizations such as the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Being a member will give me access to most current information and professional resources regarding patient safety as a family nurse practitioner, and ongoing education opportunities ( Ramira, 2019) . Besides, I will get to enjoy exceptional rates on continuing education opportunities.
