In my opinion, procuring an abortion is not wrong. However, Rae holds the view that committing an abortion shows that one is not compassionate to the unborn child. Again, he states that Christ died for the sake of humankind, which encompasses both the born and the unborn. As such, he terms abortion as a manifestation of vice and in the appropriation of priorities (Adetunbi, 2011). Contrastingly, bringing forth a life that one cannot manage to take care of and later abandoning the child is a punishment to human creation. Therefore, a woman should be at liberty to terminate her pregnancy at will during the first trimester if she feels that she cannot bring up that child.

Rae bases his argument primarily on the provisions of the bible. As such, is that human life is precious and should be protected; therefore, no one should take their life away, thus killing an unborn child is a sin according to the teachings of Christianity. Life begins before one is born. The fetus is a phase of human formation, justifies it to enjoy the privileges of human beings (Adetunbi, 2011).

Rae assumes a different view in matters of euthanasia as he argues that preserving life is always among the top priorities according to Christianity. However, on occasions when matters get tough, Rae is seen to approach issues in moderation. Again, his stand changes when it comes to criminals who are sentenced to death. He believes that only God is allowed to judge the guilty ones, and he is the giver and taker of life. Rae holds a view that life is precious, especially if one is not suffering. For that reason, a more fulfilling life should be characterized by happiness and good health. As such, euthanasia is appropriate in an event where health is permanently invaded (Swartz, Itumeleng, Kumar & Segokgo, 2013).. .
