When Jesus told the noble man that his son would be well, he was initially doubtful, and did not believe what Jesus had told him. This doubtful nature of human is common especially when critical illnesses are involved. Many people tend to be reluctant to believe an assurance by a nurse that a patient will be well, and will only want to see healing before believing. Jesus Christ increased the father’s faith by assuring him about the healing of his son. He tells him ‘Go, your son will live’ and even explains to him how people only need to see signs and wonders for them to believe.
As a future nurse, such people will always come to me an expect me to physically attend to their patients hoping to see a drastic change. Sometimes, such people only need to have a assurance from a nurse that the situation of their patients are not as serious as they may seem. This increases their faith in the medication that the patients receive. As a nurse, I will always thrive to understand what such people go through and try my level best to awaken their faith not only in the medication that they receive but the fact that we as the nurses treat but God heals.

The faith of the nobleman was able to change his life in several ways. When Jesus assured him that his son will live, he believed and went home. True to Jesus’ words, his son regained his health immediately as narrated by his servant. His faith in what Jesus told him change him from a man who wanted to see Jesus go to his home and heal his son to a man of great faith in the word. When his son got healed, the noble man with his household became believers of Jesus and their lives changed. In regard to the nursing proffession, people who have confidence and faith that they will overcome their sicknesses will always truiphm. Although many people sometimes find it hard to accept the advice given to them by a nurse, their little faith and the step they take towards their healing is of great significance. Just as the noble man believed what Jesus told him and headed home, patients and caregivers should also get involved in their journey towards recovery.
There are various lessons that we learn from the nobleman story. One of the lessons is that one should be able to follow instructions given. Just as the noble man followed the instructions given by Jesus that he should go home, caregivers and patients should always adhere to the prescriptions and advice given by nurses and doctors. Another essential lesson that reveals itself is confidence and boldness. As a nurse, one should be able to confidently offer advice just like Jesus asked the noble man to go home and even boldly told him how people wanted to see signs before believing.
