The nursing process entails a systematic guide with sequential steps while caring for patients. Also, the nursing process helps nurses identify actual or potential problems affecting their clients. The nursing process involves five crucial components: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, which aids nurses to prioritize the healthcare of their patients.

Assessment refers to a systematic collection of patient's information. In this process, the data collected must be verified and analyzed before it is communicated. This helps in ensuring that the data collected is legit to prevent giving the wrong treatment of the patients. Diagnosis is a very critical process during nursing (McCuistion et al., 2020). This involves a critical analysis of the information collected during the assessment stage. Besides, the diagnosis stage aids the nurses in making decisions while developing diagnostic statements about the patients. Planning involves the formulation of goals that directly affect patients. All goals and outcomes must be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound ( McCuistion et al. 2020) . Implementation, on the other hand, entails achieving the goals set in the planning process. The actions are initiated and completed in this process. Finally, the evaluation process analyzes the patient's response and response to nursing care to improve their health.

The nursing process is essential in prioritizing nurse care because it aids in keeping track of a patient's information. Besides, it is vital in determining the level of illness of patients, thus helping in identifying those that are critical and needs faster attention and those that can wait longer before they are attended ( Doenges, Moorhouse & Murr, 2016).
