Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act of 2019 is a federal-level nursing legislation introduced in 2019 in the United States congress. Its main aim was to amend title VII of the Public Health Service Act and ensure the extension of advanced education grants to nursing professionals who would like to specialize in their careers or simply advance their training and education. Nurses had for a while campaigned for the introduction of work development programs such as further education and training. These programs were to be made available to nurses of different cadres to enable their career progression and also the improvement of the quality of services given by nursing professionals. It is quite easy for employers to abuse the goodwill expected of them by the Act thus it is necessary to put legal measures to safeguard the benefits accorded to the nursing profession by the Act.
