The aspect of American mafias has been debated fro many years. Many people claim that the government tends to fear such groups of people making them more powerful. The topic of mafias is traced backed in the 15 th century in which a group of people rose up and become powerful members of the society. As such, they were able to control the social economy activities of the local people due to the influence they had. Since then, mafias have been able to take their place even in the modern society. 

In America, the government has tried to establish certain agencies such as the FBI to control the activities of such people. However, the government has not been very successful in addressing the issues due to the influence of the mafias as they have the money and the connection. In fact, it is believed that some of this mafias tend to decide who to become the president of America so that they could control their wealth. In that light, it was difficult for the government to completely eradicate issues of mafias in our society. One of the movies that have tried to portray the concept of the mafia is ‘Godfather' as it highlights how the business is being carried out.

In the film, it shows how the business of Narcosis being run by one of the most powerful families in the country. They were willing to kill anyone who stood their way of selling drugs to the people. On one incident, they had to kill a police officer who was refusing to cooperate. Such actions are similar to what the mafias exercise in the real world situation. Many police officers are afraid of every arresting them as the mafias tend to threatened their families. As such, the policemen have no option but to cooperate with them. In ‘Godfather, there were a series of conflict of who will succeed the business after the death of their brothers. One of the characters Vito Corleone was even willing to kill his brother so as to become their leader of the Narcos group. It shows how much the business has influenced the society. 

In the past decades, the government has tried to establish certain measures that would ensure they reduce drug trafficking conducted by such mafias. One of the measures is through assigning secret investigators to try and track down some of the most powerful drug dealers in the country. Such measures would ensure that the mafias would not be able to identify who is behind them. In most cases, they try to eliminate any person who becomes interested in their business. 

Based on the movie, the family was constantly relocating from one part of the country to another to avoid being caught. Also, it was evident that when the brothers were travelling, they had to have security backup to ensure their security. One important thing to not about the movie was the fact that the drug traffickers were constantly competition with each other. Based on that, the wanted to dominate a certain sector through killing the region leader. It shows the kind of life that the people were livings they were endangering the lives of both their families and the local people. To ensure that the aspect of the mafia is addressed in the country, the governments need to set strict penalties for any person who is found guilty of practicing such business.
