Adolescence is a critical stage of life, and individuals undergo various changes during this stage. As the changes take place, persons face multiple issues, which can be classified as either mental or physical. Medovy (2014 ) defines adolescence as a stage of active growth and development, which encompasses physical, emotional, sexual, and social growth. However, the stage of development varies from one individual to another. “Conventionally, adolescence begins one or two years earlier in several individuals” ( Medovy, 2014 ). “Bullying is a common experience for adolescents and has various negative consequences on those bullied and individuals who bully others are at a higher risk of involvement in criminal professions." The impacts of bullying and social isolation can be classified as a long-term and short term with the short term impacts comprising of fear, feelings of guilt, nightmares, and depression. This research will, therefore, focus on the psychological and mental effects of bullying and building statistical research on the same. The proposed study will narrow down its research further to the psychological outcomes of social isolation and bullying, that is to say, sleep difficulties. Experiencing sleeping difficulties may be interrelated with the involvement in bullying issues ( Silverman, 2016 ).
Additionally, the study will integrate several variables, which are relevant to the proposed statistical research. A variable can be used to describe phenomena that are not consistent or able to change, or it can mean something, which can easily be manipulated ( Bryman, 2016 ). Contemporarily, empirical studies have established that sleep difficulty is a common problem among the adolescent population. Thus, researching sleep difficulties would play a crucial role in the evaluation of the extent of the harmful consequences of bullying on adolescent’s minds. If the proposed statistical research project establishes high levels of sleep problems among young adolescents, it will propagate the understanding that even a repressed mind is harmfully affected due to bullying.

A Realistic Timeline for Finishing of the Project
For completion, the project will last for at least 15 to 20 days. A determined number of individuals from the selected study population will be required to be part of the study every day. It is essential to take into consideration that a study involving many people cannot be undertaken within a short period and it would, therefore, require 15 to 20 days to complete.
Individuals to be involved in the Study
In the proposed study, the participants will be 5,800 adolescents aged between 10 and 19 years selected randomly from different schools countrywide. The adolescent individuals chosen as the sample for the survey will be further divided into categories, which included pure victims, pure bullies, as well as bully-victims. Pure bullies are the ones considered to have never experienced bullying although they have bullied others. Pure victims are individuals who have been continuously bullied while bully-victims are those who bully others and have also been bullied.
Staff for Conducting the Research Project
A sample size of 5800 adolescents will require an adequately large number of people in terms of staffing to help conduct the study. The method of data collection for the research study will be the use of questionnaires, which will comprise of at least 80 questions that seek to unravel the experiences of the selected sample. Sample questions on the questionnaire will include; "have you ever experienced an instance of bullying in your dreams while asleep"? "Did the instance of bullying wake you up"? The study will be conducted in various sections, which will entail dividing the study sample into several sets and each set would consist of 800-900 individuals. Based on the analysis, the study would, therefore, require 90 staff members to help in the procedures for this research.
The Statistical Analysis Method to be used
Use of the survey method involving questionnaires will seek to elucidate the baseline for the health and adolescent wellbeing of the selected individuals. Statistical analysis will be used in analyzing several variables including age, gender, tea/coffee drinkers, ethnic origins, alcohol consumers, and type of school (with or without meals). Regression analysis is deemed appropriate for this study. A correlation will then be developed between sleep difficulties, bullying, and depression in the selected sample. Additionally, hierarchical binary logistic regression analysis will provide a clear impression of bullying's involvement in sleep difficulties.
Subjects Required for the Study
Several subjects will be required, and they include gender, alcohol consumption, depression, exercise, ethnicity, and school-stage. The seven identified subjects will determine whether bullying has far-reaching implications on the wellness of an adolescent.
An Evaluation of the Importance of the Proposed Research Study
The study will give an insight into the problems that can result from bullying among adolescent populace. It is critical to note that sleep difficulties do not solely occur as a result of bullying; instead, it may be caused by other mental issues such as depression and bipolar disorders. The proposed research study will be efficient since it will integrate all relevant factors including the status of the adolescent, their habits, and lifestyle choices. However, there are limitations to the proposed research study. It can come under criticism by sleep researchers for being subject bias regarding insomnia patients and excessively estimating the amount of time it takes them to sleep (Harvey & Tang, 2016).
There are various organizations and agencies, which can gain from the findings of the proposed study such as medicinal institutions and child services. Also, the results of the study can help in the evaluation of the kinds of medicines and prevention strategies, which can help prevents sleeplessness among victims of bullying.
