Working as a healthcare professional has been one of my personal goals. I am always looking forward to an opportunity to serve the community as a healthcare administrator. One of the most fulfilling experience at Peirce College is enrolling for this course. I have learned and gained much that will not only assist me complete my studies well but also refine my perspective as a future healthcare administrator. Notably, every skill and knowledge acquired will be applied to further my goals and assist members of the community. For example, the knowledge about blood will assist me in making the right decisions when undertaking blood transfusion, ensuring it is free from infections, and it is of the compatible blood group.
I learned basic procedures for undertaking a carotid ultrasound test, which I will be able to detect blockages that cause stroke. Also, the learned skills can help me determine the risk factors for stroke and provide recommendations for the patient. Skills and competences will also be applied to test and diagnose poor blood circulation through the application of a blood sugar test. As I proceed with my career as a health administrator, knowledge about the immune system will help advise patients about diets whenever they suffer from weak immune system.

Further, knowledge acquired in infection control such as washing, disinfecting, and reprocessing equipment to be reused helps manage the spread of infections. As a healthcare administrator, I will institute asthma guidelines at the healthcare facility to help improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare. Therefore, the time invested in this course contributes positively to my career objectives as well as the remaining time in college. Notably, the basic knowledge will open new opportunities to further my nursing studies at Pierce College. Skills in diagnostic procedures are necessary for making informed decisions on effective assistance and care for patients experiencing gastrointestinal problems.
There are many indispensable lessons that I have learned from the course, and I look forward to applying in practice. The course will greatly serve my interests as I progress with my studies. It will also strengthen my perspectives as a future healthcare leader.
