The Franco-American alliance played a crucial role in during the American revolutionary war. Considering that the alliance brought on board the French into the war, it stretched the capacity of Britain to wage a maximum war. In this regard, the British were required to defend their colonies back in their homeland and even abroad, thus stretching their capacity due to the limited number of soldiers.
