Just as it is with any other transition, this transfer results in lack of continuity in health care and delays in the reception of necessary health services. According to the article, many veterans live in parts of the country where VA services are not easily accessible, and hence they opt to use the services of non-military and non-VA providers, which in most cases do not cater to their health needs adequately.

The journal article “ Spiritual Care in Nursing Practice in Veteran Health Care," written in May 2019, explains the importance of spiritual care in the nursing practice. Just as the writers of the article state, the spiritual wellbeing as well as spiritual care is closely associated with better health of every individual person (Burkhart & Gerc, 2019). The journal article clearly states that veterans require spiritual care to help them cope with chronic conditions and hence the more reason nurses should adopt provision of spiritual care to this unique patient population.
