The role of forensic psychologists that I find most interesting is that of consultancy, where one can be an expert witness providing legislative testimony. In this role, a forensic psychologist is charged with the responsibility of addressing and establishing whether the current social facts have the ability to influence a particular law in the U.S constitution (In Weiner & In Goldstein, 2003) . I find this role interesting because of the gravity of its implication since laws are what govern how the country is run and how people are expected to behave. Therefore, when forensic psychologists perform this role diligently, they contribute towards the establishment of fair laws, which people can comfortably observe while enjoying a convenient social set up within the community. The role is also of interest to me because the testimonies that help set up or improves certain laws since the findings used to do so are based on research and neutrality, thus justice and fairness is bound to prevail owing to this role of forensic psychologists. However, such a role also has its associated challenges, which may make one’s job in that filed difficult.

Among the challenges is making the decision on when to use nomothetic science, which entails using group data or the use of nomothetic data without ideographic information, by using individual-based data. In addition to that, there is also the challenge that arises from evaluation and analysis of nomothetic data since it may require one to also conduct an analysis of each individual’s data in the group (In Weiner & In Goldstein, 2003) . There is also the issue of reluctance from the individuals of providing information that may be needed to make the testimonies, which may result in incomplete analysis, thus results. In some instance, respondents may not really trust or respect the profession, thus making it difficult for a forensic psychologist to conduct their roles efficiently.
