Companies or organizations audit themselves to ensure that they follow the practices and standards and can attest if the need arise to regulatory agencies. The auditing process helps businesses to identify their weak and strong areas for self-development. In a healthcare organization, the healthcare administrator acts as a compliance officer because he or she is responsible for ascertaining that the facility is carrying out its business activities per the law. In the course of auditing, the healthcare administrator, who acts as the compliance officer, is in charge of preparing and organizing the medical facility to avoid lawsuits, manage risks, and maintain a good reputation. This paper focuses on discussing ways a medical care administrator can prepare his or her organization for auditing, and the role collaboration will play amid specific departments to help the organization meet compliance changes.

The first step in preparing the staff within a healthcare facility is to select a liaison person; one who will be contacted by the auditors during the auditing process. The designated personnel should possess strong communication and project management skills. The other workers should be informed that during the auditing process, in case the auditors raise questions, they should direct them to the liaison person. After the internal preparation, the compliance officer; the health administrator, should then contact the auditors to schedule an entrance conference to familiarize the organization on the reason for auditing (Henczel, 2013). Collaboration amid specific departments such as the IT department and the record keeping sector will help in attaining a uniform record thus avoiding contradiction during the auditing process (Morley & Cashell, 2017). The collaboration will boost staff engagement during the auditing process thus helping meet the compliance challenges.
