Meanwhile, there are several renaissance concepts of perspective. In geometric perspective, to avoid any curvature straight lines at the space project should be connected to other similar lines in the picture plane. The second perspective requires all parallel lines in space to remain parallel or intersect at the same vanishing point. To add on, the other perspective states the viewer's angle should be the same as the angle used in coming up with parallels in space. Last but not least, all the parallel lines within a plane in space encompasses of vanishing points which are horizontal as represented on the plane.

What is these artist-scientists attempting to accomplish?

Like artists of his time, Leonardo and his counterparts believed that all aspects of the natural environment should be observed, both the beautiful and ugly side as well as the bad and good side. However, Leonardo paintings were unique since he did not follow the methods that were widely used by other artists of his time in depicting living things. Most of the artists based their findings of the environment on classical sculpture. On the other hand, Leonardo's main aim in science was returning realism to nature and his personal belief that painting is the core element of nature and our surroundings.
