Evidence-based practice (EBP) is a crucial aspect of the practice of BSN-prepared RN since it promotes the incorporation of research findings, clinical expertise, and patients’ preferences in the care settings. BSN-prepared nurses who rely on EBP tend to apply scientific research and well-informed decisions that result in improved patient outcomes ( Mackey & Bassendowski, 2017 ). Besides, EBP ensures that BSN-prepared RNs remain updated about the new medical procedures and interventions that can enhance patient care. These caregivers can research the documented interventions in line with their patients’ needs, deliver appropriate care, and improve the patients’ chances of recovery. Also, EBP enables BSN-prepared RNs to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of different diagnostic tests.
` There are two ways that I can integrate evidence into practice and encourage within my work environment. One of the approaches is research utilization which entails the finding and applying the best evidence into nursing practice ( Mackey & Bassendowski, 2017 ). I will focus on implementing exceptionally reliable studies when delivering care. Mainly, I will use mobile technologies to access the EBP resources. Besides, the American Colleges of Nursing offers relevant EBP materials for BSN-prepared RNs ( Mackey & Bassendowski, 2017 ). Hence, I will use my smart devices to access its contents. Another means of integrating evidence in nursing practice will be through the formation of clinical question. This method will compare the strengths, effectiveness, and weaknesses of different interventions.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
However, the implementation of EBP is bound to experience challenges. One of the barriers is limited time to read the literature due to the heavy workload. Since the nursing profession is extremely demanding, it may be difficult for me to have adequate personal time to research and read the latest evidence. Another barrier is the lack of internet access at work. At times, the healthcare organizations may lack Wi-Fi which may make it challenging to find the latest research. However, I can overcome these challenges by setting aside personal time during leave or vacation to read the latest evidence. I will also ensure that I have access to the internet by purchasing an affordable data plan to stay online at all times.
