Sociological perspective and psychological perspective have several differences. In my understanding sociological perspective delve into the social structure, historical context, social relationships and other social forces that shape-up human behavior including imagination. Such social perspective can also include childhood socialization. On the other hand, psychological perspective focuses on feelings and the mind of human beings in order to understand how we behave, imagine and think. For example, when it comes to imagination, psychological perspective looks at it from a brain and mind point of view while sociological perspective looks at it from a social structure point of view and how different social forces are likely to shape up our behaviors and imaginations.
Sociological imagination is a practice of drifting away from familiar thought routines of our daily lives and having a different perspective of looking at things from a third person perspective. There are several ways that I can apply sociological imaginations in my life. One of these areas of application is when making critical decisions. I would give the example of a future college entry choice for a master degree. In my thoughts I would most probably think that it is a solid path. However, with a critical view of things such family history at a college, my friends and relatives thoughts on choice of career and whether or not the career I have chosen is out of a free will, sociological imagination is likely to shake-up my choice and determine the decision I am going to make.

Another application of the sociological imagination concept in my life would be making judgment. We are always quick on making judgment on others but for once have not given ourselves an opportunity to think about their whole situation from a broader perspective. An example would be a friend involved in gang, the possibility of judging my friend or having a deviance sociological imagination rests on my application of the sociological perspective. Other examples of how this key concept would play a role in my life would be in making key life steps such as marriage that nowadays many people tend to rush into without a second thought and drawing marriage scenarios from a third-party perspective.
