Sociological imagination offers human beings a link between their personal lives and the social forces found in life. It involves thinking away from the conventional routines of life and looking them with a different perspective. It is also about visualizing things socially and how well they interact to influence each other. To gain a sociological imagination, a person must first come out of the situation and use alternative views to deal with issues. Sociological imagination is important because it enables individuals to relate what they experience in their daily lives to the local, national, and global situations that face them. Without employing social imagination in the lives of human beings, people are unable to identify the various social issues that affect them. They also face difficulties in determining the necessary changes required to deal with the matter.

Also, with regards to politics, democracy was still not fully developed, and this means that the many rights we enjoy today could not have been a possibility in that era.
