The “Tale of Two Schools” video portrays the differences between two different schools that lead to disadvantages in the education system. Examples of these differences are 1. Curriculum differences. The subjects taught at Mclean high school is different from the one taught at Heritage high school. Teachers at Heritage high school use out-of-date syllabus to teach their students, unlike teachers at Mclean high school, who use a current syllabus. A difference in curriculum between schools in the U.S creates differences in children's education presently and in the long run because using out-of-date curriculum produces students who are unprepared for the increasingly diverse and competitive job market.

2. Income inequality. Students at Mclean high school drive to school, meaning that they come from high-income families, while at Heritage high school, students use public means to school, meaning that they come from low-income families. Students from rich families receive a quality education while those from low-income families receive a poor quality education. This leads to competency differences in the job market. 3. Availability of teaching materials. Teachers at Mclean high school have adequate teaching materials, while those at Heritage high school buy their own teaching materials. Without proper teaching materials in schools, the quality of education the students receive is of low quality, which affects their future competitiveness in the job market.

To bridge the gap between schools, the government should prioritize funding schools. The government can achieve this through the implementation of a progressive tax code taxing wealthy citizens more. Through this, the government will obtain more revenue for improving the public education system. The government will also manage to increase funding for teachers, especially in low-income regions, thus improving teaching quality in public schools. Increased funding in public schools will ensure students in those schools receive a quality education, just like students in private schools (Ashwin & McLean, 2012)
