Ever since Osama bin Laden launched a brutal war on America, the threat and reality of radical Islam infiltrating the country have been not only great but also very significant. According to Little (2016) the first call that has dominated progressive growth in America started in 1996 when he wrote the “Declaration of War against the Americans Occupying the Land of the Two Holy Places.” America has never been the same again. Although Bin Laden’s call to rally all Muslims as a single bloc did not succeed, America has seen a gradual eruption of Islamophobia that has played a crucial role in advancing radical Islamic views. Continued immigration, conversion, and intermarriage have seen the Muslim population grow from 25,000 four decades ago to over 3.5 million ( Little, 2016) . Radical Muslims have gradually infiltrated American mosques campaigning against democratic ideals and posing threats to Americans. In Latin America, Salafist mosques have been an easy target, aiding in converting and immigration of Muslims holding radical ideologies into the country. The Sept 11 attack was proof that radical Islamic groupings are rife and are operating in the country with an extensive, sophisticated network of supporters and sympathizers.
Overcoming and defeating the rising radical Islamic growth should come through a change of perception concerning their threat to the country. The federal government and all security agencies need to acknowledge that radical Islam is more about self-directed shame, less of hate, less of rage, but more of honor ( Little, 2016) . The radicalization of youths is pegged on, guaranteeing them fame, respect, and admiration (Clarion Project Inc., 2019). Jihadists are called to prove their worth by destroying anyone they perceive as practicing non-Islamic lifestyle and disregards Prophet Mohammed’s teachings.

The country must develop a counter-narrative that will lure Muslims by extolling their self-gratification and empowering them through freedom and quality. The country needs to reach out to every Muslim before a radical Islamic State reaches them, a comprehensive and in-depth engagement in the streets, mosques, and schools. In schools and neighborhoods, parents need to be more watchful to any signs of violence or bullying that may point to terrorist movement or preference for a particular religious outfit. Launching an aggressive war against the entire Muslim community or religion would only be counter-productive. Such an approach should start with parents, teachers in schools, and religious leaders. Everyone should be called upon to be observant and embrace Muslims. Any signs of radicalism or motivated ideological aggression should be reported to the nearest authorities to solve the problem before it takes a violent viral trend.
