The government plays an integral part in the action and the direction the life of every citizen in a given country or region takes. In many nations, the government is made up of three arms namely the executive, legislature, and the judiciary. Every branch is mandated with particular responsibilities while depending on each other for the full implementation of such roles. The first arm of government is the executive which is composed of the head of state or government, governors, mayors and heads of different state organs like ministries. The primary role of the executive is to offer administrative duties on behalf of the country (McKee, 2018) . Other arms depend on it for this function as it sets the agenda for law and justice while at the same time stimulate public morale. In most countries, the executive arm has a certain influence over other branches like the appointment of judges in the judiciary and opening or closing the legislative houses.

The second arm of government is the legislature which includes the Senate and the House of Representatives. The primary purpose of this branch is formulating laws that govern the citizens of a particular country. Therefore, it can determine which activity to be made legal or illegal. Another major function of the legislature is to authorize funding to government functions and agencies allowing efficient service delivery to the public. The third branch of government is the judiciary which is made up of judges and magistrates. It is made up of a formal hierarchy involving the court systems. The primary function of this branch is the interpretation of the law by determining whether an individual or an organization is guilty or not. One major interest in the judicial arm is how juvenile justice is administered. In modern times, many countries have put separate legal frameworks of how children are tried for wrongdoing. They offer lenient sentences and different correctional facilities from adults for those considered as minors.
