Bribery refers to the act of offering or receiving any item with value to influence the decisions or actions of an individual with a public or legal duty in the government, business, or any organization. It encompasses unethical and immoral activity which do not violate the actions and law that the society recognizes as fair (Rimskii, 2013) . Classifying corruption action is intuitive as some people perceive its manifestation while others see them as queer behavioral norms. Various agencies have been criticized due to numerous cases of corruption; one major agency criticized due to corruption is the judiciary, where judges receive bribes to rule in favor of the bribers. Judges can either quicken or delay a case, accept or reject the pleads or even rule in a particular way, and get pay-offs in return.

The court officials, such as the prosecutors and other court administrators, can also receive bribery from having a favor for an individual over a case. The judicial system faces the challenge of striking across the level of unpolitical inspection, liability, and the necessary judiciary independence. For the judicial system to assess its integrity, it considers two critical aspects: public responsibility and independence. These aspects enable it to efficiently monitor itself by making sure that it operates transparently. Historically, corruption in the judicial system has denied people of their rights and justice. Political interference and bribery propel bribery in the judicial system (PPI, 2007) . The two aspects weaken social cohesion. The judicial corruption includes any impartiality of its proceedings and decisions, which extends to bribing to get a favor or no judgment. Failing to appoint officials of the judiciary on merit can lead to a corrupt judicial system.

There have been events recorded for after some judicial officials discovered to have taken or intended to take a bribe from the public members and influence their case. For example, the BBC News reported a turmoil case on a supreme court president in Peru resigning after being under duress from the colleagues to quit and give power to someone not involved in the Peru corruption. He expresses moral courage by stepping out of his position despite the risk of unfavorable consequences of being found guilty in corruption issues. There had been a pressure towards the justice minister after a video was seen of him plotting with a supreme judge and seemed to be giving sell offers. (BBC, 2018) . Another tape published by an inspective website in Peru of a judge discussing whether to reduce the sentence declare a man guiltless after being found to have raped a young girl. The former president was also forced to resign after finding that the undisclosed financial liaison to a construction giant from Brazil. The president’s forerunner was also found in a corruption scandal and resigned in 2000; he was sentenced for twenty-five years but was released in 2017 on a presidential pardon.

The ethical issues have shed light on officials' unethical conduct in the judicial system and how ethical errors perfuse the judicial system's integrity. There are two unethical issues evident from the above bribery case: unethical leadership and toxic workplace culture. An unethical leadership is a behavior conducted and decisions made by leaders that are unlawful and violate the moral standards. In the supreme court, a justice minister who is a senior person in the judicial system was recorded discussing favors with a judge. The former president of the supreme court was found with corruption scandals. Another ethical issue is the toxic workplace culture where the workplace is afflicted with fighting, drama, and the staff were not happy about their leaders, which reduced people's well-being. It is led by officials who think nothing other than getting bribes. In the above case, the supreme court president's colleagues were courageous and him to resign and give a chance to other individuals not involved in the corruption. The pressure he received indicates that his colleagues were not happy about his action. One case that involved judicial bribery was a sexual harassment case, where a young girl had been raped; the judge was paid to declare the suspects innocent. The supreme court judge misconducted hence bringing the question of his ethics. The judge misconduct made the judiciary lack confidence in his ability to act in the judicial system.

Judicial bribery is a common type of corruption and unethical behavior where suspects and other interested parties bribe judges to rule in their favor (Ryan et al., 2019). Judicial bribery happens when the officials violate the policies of the judicial system. In cases of judicial bribery, justice is not served to individuals whose rights have been violated. Bribery corrupts the judicial system, which is supposed to protect the right of the powerless. Therefore, it is essential for the judicial system and other law enforcement agencies to deal with corruption in the judicially to reduce bribery cases. Stern actions should be taken to judges found taking bribes, such as suspension, termination, or prosecution of any judge involved in bribery. For example, the Peru supreme court's former president was forced to resign after disclosing the financial ties. The justice system should reform an equitable system that upholds people's majesty and rights regardless of their background. The judiciary should take more emphasis on social justice and cultural competency. They should acknowledge that their weaknesses reflect the bigger society. The judiciary system should put strategies that maximize justice to the current system and strive towards an extensive societal refinement.
