In the 11/9 film, Moore examines the current state of the American politics with a key focus on the Donald Trump presidency and the many social problems American continue to undergo under the leadership of politicians who are only out to accumulate wealth with their cronies. While the politicians come to ask for votes with promises, they do very little while in office to solve the social problems that the society faces. Running from racial segregation in the supply of public resources to the educational inequality that is based on race, Moore views the US political system as a rotten and that which creates economic inequality. According to Ballantine, Hammack, andStuber (2017), education inequality is one of the major problems that affectAmerican society with a key focus on minority groups. As identified in the 11/9 film, the American political system has been made in a way that the minority groups are not given equal educational opportunity as compared to their white counterparts. One of the key factors that have contributed to the low educational achievement amongst the minority is social, economic status. The minority groups in the United States have been alienated through the racist political system, denying them equal opportunities for economic growth. As a result, their children do not go to good schools and thus the increasing gap in educational achievement.

According to Ballantine, Hammack, and Stuber (2017), race and education in the United States cannot be separated as it is a practice that has long existed. While the white students continue to receive equal opportunity for better education, the rate of school dropouts amongst the minority groups has continued to rise to lead to increased poverty. As a result of racial inequality in education access, the discriminated groups in the society continue to suffer in situations where their children are denied the opportunity to get the best education and excel. As noted in the 11/9 film, politicians continue to use race as a political tool to ascend to power and introduce policies that continue to suppress and discriminate against certain ethnic groups. The key focus is on the situation where the minority ethnic groups are denied equal opportunities for growth, and as a result, they lack sufficient income to educate their children. This leads to high college dropout. Recent research has shown that the rate of college dropout amongst the minority ethnic students is five times higher than that of the whites. The reason for this has been due to the existing racial discrimination in accessto education.

Ballantine, Hammack, and Stuber (2017) also address the issue of racial discrimination in the attainment of government services and economic opportunities. As mentioned in the 11/9 film, lack of clean water supply in Flint is one of the social problems that affect the people after Rick Snyder is accused of providing poisoned water to be supplied in flint. This social problem shows the existence of racial discrimination in the provision of public resources by the elected officials. It shows how the political system of the US has become destroyed by the issue of race and increased social problems. More than 57% of Flint’s population are black Americans, and the fact that they cannot have access to clean drinking water is an indication of the existence of racial discrimination in the supply of public resources. According to Ballantine, Hammack, and Stuber (2017), the existence of ethnic segregation both in education and supply of public resources has created a huge gap and inequality between the various ethnic groups in America. The concepts of racism and inequality in education, as well as supply of public resources, continue to exist even today despite the efforts to end racial discrimination in the United States.
