My personal philosophy is to always embody empathetic, competent, patient-focused, holistic, and compassionate care for families. Through continuous learning and being conscientious about their different health care needs, I consistently improve my skills in managing health status, negotiating for health delivery systems, and monitoring to ensure the quality of health care practices (Zhang, Zhang, Han, Li, & Wang, 2018). I am proactive in achieving self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision making, social awareness, and relationship skills. Callista Roy's adaptation model of nursing founds my philosophy for my intervention efforts towards achieving the family's promotive adaptation to social, biological, and psychological balance (Tesh, 2019; Parker & Hill, 2017). The framework involves understanding the family's contextual stimuli that affect the problem to achieve survival, growth, and continuity goals
The variations in prescriptive authority among APNs include different transition requirements, exclusive licensure authority of the state boards, and supervision requirements. In Colorado, the transition requirement is seven hundred and fifty hours affecting all ADNs who need to document their mutual structure prescribing mentorship in the supervision of an ADN with full prescriptive authority and experience or a physician (American Nurses Association, 2020). Comparatively, Virginia has a more extended transition requirement of five years fulltime equivalent based on one thousand eight hundred hours per year a thirty-six hour work week, totals to nine thousand hours. The role affected includes the certified nursing practitioners who have an oversight requirement of filing an attestation from a Board of Nursing collaboration physician (American Nurses Association, 2020). The main similarity is that both states require the supervision of a mentor physician during prescriptions. Otherwise, the client safety concerns similarly include the lack of patient-focused care due to overwhelming work placed on preceptors and mentors (Ferri, Rovesti, Padula, D'Amico, & Di Lorenzo, 2019). Without streamlining ADNs full prescription authority, the nursing practice insufficiently provides holistic care because the requirements limit practice scope through institutional, regulatory, and legal barriers.
