Theoretical framework
Theoretical framework according to Fernando and Lawrence (2014) is an interrelated concept collection which resembles certain theory but is not well worked out. It acts as guidance on the research proposal on what one would wish to measure and what statistic relationships one would have. Theoretical framework has elements which must be inclusive. It has a case whose characteristics are under study for instance in our case is the falls among the old in a hospital. The conceptual framework can also work with variables. The variable, in this case, is the characteristics of the case that the researcher interested to measure. In case they are used in a conceptual framework, they are grouped into dependents and independent variables. Dependents are the outcome variables for instance in work case; the dependent variable is falling among the old age in a hospital, on the other hand, independent variables are the explanatory variables for the dependent’s variables.
Application
Falls in hospitals are attributed to many issues among the old. It can be medications, dilemmas trips, and many others issues. Falls prevention is important in addressing this case. In the theoretical framework of falls prevention, we have dependent and independent variables. The dependent variable, in this case, is the falls prevention among the old age in a hospital setting. The independent's variables are all geared towards addressing this issue.

The first independent variable is awareness creation of the need to prevent falls among these individuals (Hempel et al. 2013). These are inclusive of the safety precautions, for instance, slippery floors indication, clinical safety among medical professionals and others. The second is the establishing falls interdisciplinary team to carry out evaluations on pitfalls in an organization which results to the falls among the old. Lastly is the conduction of the post falls management among the old in the hospital. These may be inclusive of the post fall hurdles, trending analysis of the falls, a system of transparency and many others.
