The identified fundamental values by Fowler are very vital and shared among many individuals though they are not practical in the social and political environment we live in. Equality is the desire of all the developed and developing countries (Canuto, 2012) . Inequality is a topic of focus in many countries; wealth inequality being the most prominent issue. Inequality is also manifested in the injustices that people experience in their daily lives. Inequality is also a threat to the economic growth of a nation (The Conversation, 2015) .
The political environment is a hindrance to the freedom of the people; this is because despite the policies in place that supports liberty, there are others contrary to them (Rohac et al, 2017). This can be seen when there is freedom of speech and also one can be executed for utterances that can be viewed as hate speech or proactive to cause negative implications. This is a threat to the maintenance of these values because the laws and regulations do not favor the entire populations (Boaz, 2013)

Individualism is faced with the threat of conspiracy because of the belief that a success of an individual is dependent on a hidden cause and thus one cannot succeed alone but with support. A country cannot flourish economically on itself but requires support from the other countries such as labor, raw materials and market for the end products (Frey, 2017) .
Quality is a value that all individuals should have though it is the most compromised in the delivery of goods and service. This is brought about by the difference in the financial ability and the authorization of selling of goods having varied quality standards and thus leading to poor and substandard goods in the market (Srinivasan & Kurey, 2014)
Selfish desires of those in power are one of the major threats to actualization of the identified values. This is because, leaders in power make decisions that are not just and thus favor some people in the society and lead others to end up losing the values in the search for survival tactics (Economic Affair, 2013).
