Simplify this quote, "Elections involving incumbents are often a referendum on the performance of the incumbent."

An incumbent is a person who holds a particular office or post. At the same time, a referendum is a universal vote where all entitled voters vote on a specific plan. In simple words, this quote would mean that the public will hold Trump responsible for the state of the economy and his leadership during a nationwide racial movement that protested against racial disparities and a public health emergency that came about due to an unprecedented global pandemic.

Which candidate do you most identify with and why?

I identify with Trump because, before the pandemic, the national economy boomed due to some measures like his 2017 tax cut, which saw the corporate tax rate reduction. Furthermore, I also identify with his view of "Americans first" as he has effected that Americans should be in the frontline in being entitled to secure job opportunities in our nation.

Is there a topic (economy, health care, etc.) that you don't agree with your candidate's stance?

I identify with Trump, but I can't entirely agree with his view on the environment sector since I believe that climate change is a global emergency. Trump's decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord, which was formed with the primary objective of reducing global emissions, as a lousy idea reason being his directive of eliminating many environmental regulations to boost businesses and keep energy cost low will hurt many citizens in the future not only on financial grounds but also on medical grounds.

Summary:

The national elections have a significant influence on every American's lives, whether they are within the country or abroad. This year's elections look different from the rest of the world, and our nation has been affected by the covid-19 health pandemic. The US political system can be diced into the two dominating parties: The Republicans and The Democrats. Donald Trump will be the flag bearer of the republicans, while Joe Biden is the Democrats' candidate of choice.

The Electoral College votes decide winners of the presidential election; thus, both candidates contest to win Electoral College votes. There are a total of 538 votes that are up for grabs, a candidate only requiring 270 votes and more to be declared the winner of the elections. Each state in the election is assigned a differing number of votes based on the state's population, with most of the states except two holds a winner takes it all policy.

The election's focus is mostly on the battleground states or the swing states, which are the few states that lack a decided party that they lean towards. In any election permitted, you are a US citizen, and over eighteen years, you are eligible to vote in the presidential election every four years. Voters can cast their votes through a postal ballot or by showing up at a designated polling station.

It is worth noting that the election is not fully about the presidential position, and the House of Representatives is voted in during this occasion. Furthermore, once the result is announced and a new president is marked as the winner, a two-month grace period is left to allow for a smooth transition of power and appointment of cabinet ministers.

Rank the Reforms Best to Worst-Remember leaving as is an option and needs to be included in the ranking.

The national bonus plan

The district plan

The proportional plan

The national popular vote plan

What the pros and cons of your number one ranked plan:

Pros.

It considers the winner of the national popular vote as it will see the electoral vote increase by 102 votes.

A candidate will require 321 votes to be declared the victor. This plan will ensure that candidates are forced to visit more states instead of focusing on the swing states to increase their chances of reaching the stipulated target number of electoral votes.

Cons.

The plan still supports the winner take it all measure, which inconveniences third-party candidates.

Questions.

Remembering: what are the states' names that do not apply the winner take it all policy?

Understanding: how would you compare a situation where the Electoral College isn't in existence with another situation where it exists?

Applying: what would occur in an instance where both candidates fail to reach the 270 electoral vote count?

Creating: what would you test the integrity of results produced by the Electoral College?

Evaluating: how would you prove that a specific candidate has won the elections?

Analyzing: what facts justify the existence of the US Electoral College since our founding fathers?

Campaigns: summary of ads

Both ads can be classified as attack ads as they all focus on the opposing contender. The kind of music used in both ads is meant to evoke an emotional response in the viewers; furthermore, the narrators in both ads sound confident and authoritative, making listening to the message they pass across feel authentic and convincing. Trump's ad was most influential as it focuses on the accomplishment he has achieved in the economic sector. I found myself learning Joe Biden's compelling agenda to shut down Trump's plans to revamp our stagnating economy.
