Globally, all hospitals are fundamentally similar in their activities, goals, and objectives. The non-profit, for-profit, and government hospitals have a common goal in their activities. To ensure patients are served and treated well, physicians and nurses are employed and finally operate the organizations in tightly synchronized frameworks for medical services.

In how for-profit hospitals are managed, the top managers have operational discipline where the managers and stakeholders have positive financial routines as their main goal. According to Uttley & Khaikin (2016), the Steward health care system is composed of 3,500 physicians and 18 branches of hospitals in the United States as a for-profit hospital. However, the non-profit hospitals have low financial accountability levels due to the poor operational discipline in the hospitals. The not-for-profit hospitals' management depends on funds from stakeholders to provide medication and healthcare services to various communities around them. As for governmental hospitals, they entirely depend on funding from the government. Therefore, the hospital management is spearheaded by the governments’ board of directors who solely depend on the taxpayers’ money to fund the hospitals.

Consequently, the non-profit hospitals make decisions depending on the benefits and needs of a community in terms of their health care. All the hospitals are staffed differently depending on the size and operational benefits in the community. As a result, for-profit hospitals have a medium concentration of staff members who generate the hospitals' financial benefits ( American Hospital Association, 2014) . However, not-for-profit hospitals account for large numbers of employees due to the presence of numerous non-profit facilities. Most not-for-profit hospitals are unable to provide all medical services in the communities. Therefore, non-profit hospitals refer most patients to other governmental or for-profit hospitals for primary services such as admissions, operations, and medical care ( American Hospital Association, 2014) . Governmental hospitals have the least number of staff members due to the free medical care to patients in the country where the hospitals cover their expenses and receive wages from the government.
