Explain why you believe humans need to express themselves through created artifacts.

Explain the larger human need to express using the insights you gained from studying your artifact. 

Through art, human being expresses themselves for different reasons. Some of the reasons for humans to create art include; relieving the stress they have, expressing whatever they are thinking about or feeling, showing the future what the past looked like and establishing the standards that they lived up to. The artifact I chose to study is "54th Massachusetts Memorial on the Boston Common." Augustus Saint-Gaudens designed the artifact. He designed the sculptor to pay tribute to the American soldiers who fought the civil war. He expressed his emotional feeling of a good job done by the soldiers through the art.

A major development in humanities such as the sculpture was initially created representing the white soldiers before the blacks were also incorporated in the artifact. Written ‘Omnia relinquent' translated to "They leave everything behind to serve the public." It is an indication of how humanity strained just to fight for the United States.

Explain the larger reciprocal relationship between human creative expression and the culture in which it was created, using the insights you gained from studying your artifact

"54th Massachusetts Memorial on the Boston Common," was created in the United Stated fighting culture. The sculpture expresses, in many ways, the American culture. Americans, both Black and White fighters were ready to leave anything they had behind. The type of weapons they used is also shown clearly, as well as the unity they had. Their unity led to the Americans victory in WWII

The course has helped me understand what effects do the artifact had on the contemporary United States society. The Unity of all states in terms of the race led to the success of the United States fighting history. Americans response to the art shows how it has expressed the fighting spirit.

Use the insights you gained from studying your artifact to explain how creative expression can impact today's issues

The creative expression on the artifact can impact greatly to American society. Unity is the key in America today the way we are creative toward expressing the United State unity has improved. The sculpture brings people together from all walks of life to see how unity has been expressed. The differences between Blacks and Whites can be solved through the creativeness. I believe that in each era, there is a new way of showing human creativity.

The creativity that has developed in designing the humanity artifact can tell great stories that many could not have known. Within one artifact, a lot of information can be added and well understood. The artifact "54th Massachusetts Memorial on the Boston Common," tells us of the past life and can also unify humanity.
