The study covered in this course outlines various issues involving criminal justice. According to Walden University, (2020), justice is a critical topic, which is inherently the heart of the US democracy; however, today, the US criminal justice system experiences complex and increasing issues on terrorism, human trafficking, drug crimes, police brutality, and violence towards women. Leaders in the criminal justice system must understand what is on the line to develop adaptive measures for countering the pressing issues in the criminal justice system. The identification and use of the “what’s on the line” technique helps in solving all the pressing problems, by using a suitable technique to counter every problem. The criminal justice systems in the US aims at preventing crimes, provision of justice, and control of crimes. In solving these issues, a criminal justice leader can apply “Love, the myth of measurement or the form doesn’t matter” strategies. Love, for instance, covers motivation, compassion, and the willingness to solve a particular issue in society (Robinson, & Williams, 2009). Being the basis of humanity, criminal justice leaders can use this strategy, to understand the differencing in crimes and how diversity brews these crimes. As a criminal justice leader, one must reflect how the crime at hand is created by love. A leader must ask themselves why the specific crime was committed, and what motivated the perpetrators to do the crime. The basis of motivation and urge to do things are vital drivers of human beings. “what’s on the line” strategy also helps in embracing diversity and differences in our societies. The understanding of the diverse world, and the differences in population, are critical components of the criminal justice system.
