Anton Rosicky is a character in a short story "Neighbor Rosicky" written by Willa Cather. Anton Rosicky is a Czech citizen who is an immigrant in the United States of America. Anton Rosicky is a 65-year-old farmer with six children, and he is trying to settle in the United States of America. In the short story, Anton Rosicky was diagnosed with a heart problem that makes him be restricted in doing strenuous manuals in the fields, something that troubles Doctor Burleigh who is fond of Anton Rosicky. Later on, he gets a heart attack at his son's field as he tries to help in the alfalfa field. Below we will look into how different Rosicky's life will be with today's medical technology.

The medical technology of contemporary society is far much advanced and effective compared to the time of Anton Rosicky. The way the sick is being taken care of is more advanced in today's world. Anton Rosicky in today's world he could have survived for a much more extended period. Medical technology of today could have helped in the monitoring of the heart problem that Anton Rosicky had. In today medical technology the heart problem could have been reversed if the problem was detected at its early stages. For example, there is NASA space technology that helps in diagnosis and monitoring treatments for hardening of arteries. With this technology, Anton Rosicky could have known the real status of his heart problem. After doing the strenuous job that cost him his life, with modern technology he could have known when to rest. A heart monitor beeps to alert the patient that he is overworking and should now rest to avoid a heart attack. Also, unlike the times of Anton Rosicky's life, he could have a heart transplant, something that modern medical technology has introduced.

There are a lot of life-changing medical technologies in today's world that could have made a significant impact in Anton Rosicky's life. He could have probably not died of a heart attack after he was involved in strenuous activity. We can argue that he was a poor man and maybe could not be able to get proper treatment, but it is evident that his chances of surviving are better in today's world compared to his time because of the modern medical technology.
