A clinical information system is essential for the collection, storage a manipulation of clinical data. In my current practice setting an example of a clinical information system for use, a securing data is in the Intensive Care Unit. In the ICU, a clinical information system is integrated with the many other computers in the healthcare facility. They include the ones in pathology and radiology. The system functions in a way that its possible to draw information form all the computers into the patients record electronically. Thus, the clinicians can be able to see the record from a single location which is at the bedside of the patient.
The interpersonal team in my practice setting uses data in deciding on workflow and care delivery based on the data they get from the clinical information system. For instance, they can be able to conduct a review of the various diagnosis of the patient. In the workflow, it is a part of the process to review all the diagnosis and indicate the validity of the status or even update the system ("Health Care Service Delivery," 2014). From the workflow, the professional team can be up to date with the health condition of the patient.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
There are limitations in computing capabilities for today's standards. A workflow assists the professional team in the collection of data from various analogue devices such as the bedside monitors and the chart records for the nurses (Gardner, 2016). The professional data will use the data to create an integrated system and structure the patient's history in the way of making informed decisions on care delivery. It is from the system workflow that the operations of each of the professional team member will be monitored (Islam, Poly and Li, 2018). The aim is to ensure that everything is working efficiently and effectively, and the patient's outcome increase through informed decision making on care delivery.
