Absolutism is a type of political doctrine where a monarch practices an unlimited, centralized authority and absolute sovereignty. This kind of monarch freely ruled with not laws attached to their ruling or an organized opposition. Kings and Queens are believed to have received their powers from God and hence a divine right monarchy. The authority of the monarch included all institutions within their jurisdiction. These included administration, taxes, justice, and religious and foreign affair policies. This paper is indebted to get the insights about this kind of political system and give a classical example of proper argumentation.

The reign of King Louis XIV is considered the most classical example of absolutism (1643–1715) . King Louis became the king and decided to rule over France directly instead of through the prime minister. He broke with the French traditions and surprised his court by declaring himself as the one ruler and as the typical representative of God, endowed with a divine right to exercise the outright power of the monarchy.

It is evident that King Louis used absolute monarchy in France as he directly played the role of supervising France's economic strategies using the mercantilists system. In this, he granted monopolies, charged the tariff on foreign trade and expanded the French colonies. King Louis himself led military expeditions and developed and expanded the French army leading them in a series of wars that lasted throughout his reign as the king. King Louis was also the patron of arts in France.

Even though absolutism would work on King Louis XVI, he sought advice from his ministers and the nobility who controlled the wealth of the country; therefore, the king had a close watch over them, but the power to make the decision was wholly vested in him. He even followed Richelieu's path regarding ruling the subjects.
