Patient centered care is basically the practice of administering care to patients including families by adapting to a flexible technique that is pretty valuable to their clients. The overall practice that pertains patient-centered care however encompasses paying attention, informing, and engaging patient in the provision of their care. Institute of Medicine (IOM) articulates that patient centered care is the provision of care that sustains and maintains and that provides a rejoinder to personal patient partialities, needs, and principles and confirming that every clinical decision is guided by patient criterions ("IOM Report: Patient Safety-Achieving a New Standard for Care", 2005) . 

In the administration and provision of patient centered care, two important and crucial things ought to be observed i.e. communication and attitude. The formulation and creation of a good communication channel can be challenging and daunting sometimes. The reason behind the challenge is sandwiched in the fact that at some point the condition of patients may be at the periphery or rather worst such that they cannot recover. This as a result somehow imposes a dilemma to nurses whether to keep quite or inform the patient. However, choosing to keep mum of the matter will only lead to many other problems, patient centered care in its nature advocates for communication transparency between the healthcare provider, patient, and the family in general.

Attitude on the other hand is basically the perception that one individual has towards the other. As that goes by, it is essential that both the patient and the nurse develop good and positive attitude towards each other. With a good attitude one is able to understand their patients and hence establish what is best and right for them (O’Shea, Weathers & McCarthy, 2014) . 

Ultimately, all the nursing activities in patient-centered are inclined to the needs of the patient in the care unit. To nurses, respecting diversity and the belief of patients should be made a priority. Additionally, nurses ought to look and consider some of the most primarily aspects including self-awareness, inclusion of family in the provision of care, and formulating a good relationship in the care unit. More importantly, nurses ought to manage their communication techniques and mend the overall attitude in their work environment
